Stephen and I finished painting the creepy room upstairs!
Lots of sanding, primer and a baby blue hue... I don't feel like it's haunted anymore.
When the owner first showed us the house last spring, I had gone upstairs on my own and immediately felt a shudder walking into this room. I asked Sue, are there any ghosts? Completely joking, and the response was that her daughters did not like sleeping in there. Who would - with that terrible blood red sponge texture on the walls?? Come to find out - that texture was hiding many years of wallpaper, peeling away and basically rotting.
The paint we used only came in a few shades, as we needed a sandstone texture to hide imperfections. Baby blue wouldn't have been my first choice but it's a heck of a lot better... Right now I'm displaying glass projects in there and using the good light for
Urban Revisions product shots.
In addition to the main guest room across the hall, I am so happy to have plenty of room for guests! Maybe I'll give that futon cover a cool dye job soon...
