_ Making Moves _

Photobucket

A busy weekend around here! I'm trying to juggle editing new product photos, catching up on orders and most importantly - moving to a new apartment. A temporary move for now, the new place will be acting mainly as a studio to continue work and create new designs for UrbanRevisions. This coming winter, Stephen and I will be moving across the country and selling most of what we own.
Exciting things are happening!

So excited about my new photos going up in the shop over the next few weeks.
Today I edited and added several listings with new images I shot of Connie - my boyfriend Stephen's younger sister. Isn't she gorgeous?! We happened to stumble upon these old buildings tucked away between some row houses here in Richmond. Maybe one of the taggers will somehow see a photo with their graffiti in the background...

Another one of my treasuries made the Etsy front page today!
Love these items together - including my friend Sarah's Ceramic Hoof Print Serving Bowl. Sarah and I just graduated together this past May with our BFA's in Photography and Film. So happy she is now officially part of the Etsy-sphere.

Fashion Blogger Arielle over at Something Navy looks so cute in my shredded t-shirt. I love how she knotted it up and rolled the sleeves!

About a month ago my friends and I took at trip to Hiddenite, North Carolina to find some treasures!
Emerald Hollow Mine has sluicing, creeking and digging available. We tried all three but found creeking to be the most fun and effective.
I'm currently researching ways to cut and polish some of the rocks I found. Maybe I can make a little jewelry line for Urban Revisions this fall!

My recent treasury graced the front page of Etsy yesterday... definitely a step away from my usual collections - I was trying to keep this one pretty simple.

Another gorgeous Urban Revisions front page feature on Etsy yesterday...
I am so grateful for my fellow etsians - without each other's support, our handmade lives would not be possible.

Mid-Summer Collection: Pretty Pastels

Urban Revisions is planning major facelift over the next month but first I'll be introducing a small, mid summer collection. Some pretty pastels and
marbelized dyes, most pieces will be one-of-a-kind.

The above photographs are from an underwater shoot my friend Brandy and I had last week. We had so much fun playing with some sample pieces.
My shredded fabric really does some amazing things when it's flowy nature gets combined with H2o.
Keep an eye out! The shop update will be happening this coming week.

In the meantime, I'm heading out the door to go here:

Have a great weekend, everyone :)

...Brandi's making moves...

"strange loop"

I've blogged about Brandi's work before - I've been following her for a few years now. We recently started chatting it up on Etsy and it was all in good timing. While I am trying to move away from Richmond, Brandi has been trying to re-locate somewhere fresh. After I filled her in about my whereabouts over the phone, she and her boyfriend came to the city for the first time ever this past weekend. They loved it, they signed a lease and they are on their way soon. I'm so happy that I could pass Richmond on to someone as talented as Brandi. Even though I may be ready to leave, this city holds a lot of excitement for new eyes and minds.

Watch out Rva! I know Brandi Srickland is bringing her creative juice with her...
